Caramel Apple Pecan Bars

Embark on a journey of indulgence with our Caramel Apple Pecan Bars, a delightful treat that encapsulates the rich flavors of autumn in every decadent layer. This recipe harmoniously combines the buttery goodness of a shortbread crust with the sweet and apple filling, all crowned with a generous layer of caramel and crunchy pecans.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

Directions

Roasting Pecans

  1. Step 1
Inside a baking tray bake pecan halves for 8 minutes under 300 degrees. Set aside.

Crust

  1. Step 1
Adjust oven rack to the lowest position and preheat to 350 degrees F. Line up a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray for easy removal.

  2. Step 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar and salt. Add the melted butter and stir using a wooden spoon until a dough begins to form.

  3. Step 3
Using your hands continue to combine until no flour remains and a small portion of dough holds together when squeezed. Evenly spread spoons of dough over your baking pan. Using your fingertips, press and smooth dough into an even layer in the bottom of the pan. Set aside.

Filling

  1. Step 1
Mix caramel apple filling with cinnamon and pinch of salt. Spread over the crust and top with pecans. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, until the topping is evenly distributed and rapidly bubbly across the entire surface.

  2. Step 2
Transfer pan to a wire rack. Let it cool completely inside the pan, about 1 hour. Cut into bars and serve. Drizzle some caramel sauce for an extra caramel punch!

  1. Jennifer says:

Easy recipe, however, it never cooked through. I had in oven at 350 for 60 minutes and the crust never cooked, the filling never bubbled.
