Cherry Love Letters

Indulge your taste buds in a symphony of sweetness with our enchanting Cherry Love Letters. Picture delicate, crispy layers of buttery pie crust enveloping a luscious filling of ripe, ruby-red cherries. As you take your first bite, the flaky exterior gives way to a burst of juicy cherry goodness, complemented by a hint of sweetness that dances on your palate.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Step 1
Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Trace and cut out a 4 inch square from parchment paper. Alternatively, you can use a 4 inch cookie cutter. Cut out three squares from each pie crust, reserve the scraps.

  2. Step 2
Arrange the pie crust on the sheet pan as diamonds. Add 1 heaping tbsp Lucky Leaf Cherry Fruit Filling to the middle of each pie section. Fold the right, left and bottom corners to the center, using a little water to seal if necessary.

  3. Step 3
Stamp out six hearts from the pie crust scraps using a mini heart cookie cutter (or freehand cut out hearts with a knife). Attach them to the center of each envelope with a little water.

  4. Step 4
Mix the egg with 1 tbsp water to make an egg wash. Brush each envelope with the egg wash and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

  5. Step 5
Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before enjoying.
