If you’re looking for a delicious and festive dessert to celebrate the Fourth of July or any patriotic occasion, Mini Patriotic Pies are the perfect choice! These individual pies are filled with a sweet and tangy berry filling and topped with a flaky pastry crust that’s adorned with stars and stripes.
Preheat the oven to 375F. Spray the muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
Roll out pie crust on a floured surface and cut out circles of dough with a 4 inch biscuit or cookie cutter. Place each circle of dough into muffin tin and form the bottom of your mini pies.
Fill each pie 3/4th’s of the way full with Lucky Leaf Premium Fruit Filling or Topping, 6 strawberry and 6 blueberry.
With the extra dough make mini pie crust tops with a smaller biscuit or cookie cutter. Use a star cookie cutter to cut a star in the center of each top. Press the top crust and bottom crust together. Place remaining star cut outs in the center of each pie.
Brush mini pie crusts with beaten egg and sprinkle sugar on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden. Allow mini pies to cool, remove from muffin tin with a butter knife and serve.
