This classic recipe combines the comforting flavors of tender apples, aromatic spices, and a festive crust that will bring joy to your taste buds. Perfect for sharing with family and friends, this Apple Pie is a delicious addition to your holiday dessert table.

Ingredients

  • 2 (21 oz) can of Lucky Leaf Apple Fruit Filling
  • 2 prepared pie crusts
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • splash of bourbon
  • 1 Tbsp. corn starch, if needed
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. Step 1
Place bottom crust in 9 inch dish and brush crust with melted butter, then poke holes in it with a fork and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake with pie weights at 375 for 20 minutes.

  2. Step 2
While the bottom crust is in the oven, prepare your filling: mix together your pie filling, brown sugar, spices, and salt. Add in your vanilla and a splash of bourbon, this gives the pie a special flavor but you can omit this step if wish. If your filling seems runny at this point, add in the corn starch.

  3. Step 3
Remove bottom crust from the oven, pour your filling into the prepared crust. Place your top crust over the filling and cut out what shapes you’d like to decorate your pie.

  4. Step 4
Lastly, brush your top crust with an egg wash and bake at 425 for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling. Don’t forget to use a pie crust shield to protect your edges from burning.
